After the Storm

After the Storm - This is England - Coastal Towns and Villages
After the Storm - Whitby

The storm snarls as mountainous seas crash against the battered harbour wall as thunder pounds the dark skies only illuminated by the intermittent flash of lightning spreading its tentacles like a giant octopus across the heavens, the air electrified ... Then the calm, the air cleansed, the skies now broken by rays of the sun, a touch of blue breaking the black, it is now that I realize that I’m wet, very wet and it’s time to dry off in the ‘Duke of York’ at the base of the 199 steps, as you do after the storm.
