Tees Steel - South Gare, North Yorkshire
When I moved to the north east, it was instilled in me that the steel works was the heart of Redcar and indeed the north east of England. This image was taken in the early years of my arrival, when, although I didn’t know it at the time the industry was sadly already in a state of decline. I tried to capture the power and strength of the beating heart of the steel industry sitting in an almost alien landscape, I framed the image so that the railings lead you into the landscape and guide you to the works themselves, that will always be to me Tees Steel.
