The Awakening

The Awakening - This is England - Coastal Towns and Villages
The Awakening - Saltburn-by-the-Sea

The slipway is partially constructed of stone sleepers from the original Stockton to Darlington railway (The world’s first steam hauled public railway) the footing of which can still be seen in the stones today.
The title came to me (As it often does) as I was taking the picture. The approaching storm felt like the whole atmosphere was going to explode into life; this with the sleeper stones gave me the title 'The Awakening
